The primary focus of this program is to assist shooting, hunting and collecting clubs meet Work Health and Safety obligations and compliance requirements as assessed by the NSW Firearms Registry.
The aim of this program is to increase safety at shooting facilities in NSW as well as during club sponsored activities held away from a club’s permanent base.
The Safe Shooting Program objectives are to:
- Increase opportunities for the community to safely participate in the sport of shooting
- Improve the safety of shooting facilities that are used by the community
- Assist people from groups that traditionally face barriers to participation or access to shooting facilities
- Provide educational programs and opportunities to improve safety and compliance.
Funding available
Grants are available from $500 – $20,000.
The grant amount requested cannot be more than 50 per cent of the project cost. Club contribution can include voluntary labour for facility development or voluntary facilitation costs for education and training projects. Administration costs are to be covered by the applicant and should not be included in the project budget.
Organisations may only receive State Government funding once for the same project or component of a project from this program or any other State Government funded grant program. October 13.
